Matia was born out of necessity. Founders Ben and Geva Segal, both leading data and engineering teams, noticed their teams were spending time integrating their data stacks and maintaining and building unreliable systems - time that could have been spent on more crucial engineering and business work.

So they spoke to more than 100 data leaders about the problems they were saying, and the response was clear: If they could find a way to move, monitor and view data in one integrated platform, and provide deeper observability earlier in data pipelines, they would sign up.

And the idea for Matia was born: A unified approach to managing and using data. The platform combines the power of ETL, observability, catalog, and reverse ETL into one platform, creating an end-to-end data experience and allowing data, engineering and ai teams to have more control over DataOps and business outcomes.
